    Stores Operative

    Purpose of Role

    • To locate into the Stores all finished parts which are passed, after final inspection.
    • To prepare kits of parts against work-to lists for customer orders and forward the kits to the Despatch Department/Final Inspection prior to transfer to the customer.
    • To ensure that the layout and labelling of the Finished Parts stores is maintained in a professional and orderly manner.
    • To maintain high standards of housekeeping and cleanliness in the Stores area.
    • To ensure a high level of security is met at all times and Site Security protocols are adhered too.
    • To generate weekly stock reports via Crystal reports to aid Cycle counting and stock management.
    • To undertake perpetual inventory stock checks and ensure that stock levels tally with stock reports.

    • To Goods Receipt all inbound deliveries including Raw Material
    • Fork Lift, Overhead Crane and Band Saw operation (not essential)

    Estimating Engineer

    Purpose of Role

    • To oversee the preparation and compilation of estimates for new business in response to requests for proposals.
    • The evaluation and analysis of customer datasets, specifications and condition of supply documentation in order to identify the need for raw material, bought out and sub contract requirements.
    • To liaise with Engineering, Operations and Strategic Sourcing teams in order to prepare robust competitive proposals for customers.
    • To assist in the development of best practice estimating practices.
    • Liaison with machine tool manufacturers for opportunities requiring investment in new machinery as part of scoping non-recurring elements of bids.
    • Liaison with cutting tool manufacturers to ensure best practice methods and tooling are being utilised at all times.
    • To present bids to customers / potential customers, explain costing principles and sell the organisation’s capability and competitiveness.
    • Handover of successful new work packages to the NPI Manager explaining bid assumptions and proposed manufacturing strategy.

    Purpose of Role

    • To support in the smooth running of a busy aerospace manufacturing dispatch department
    • Responsible for all delivery paperwork, PODs including tracking of parts
    • Responsible for undertaking all export shipments, including communications with couriers
    • Ensure all KPIs, targets and safety objectives are being met or exceeded in department

    Core skills/attributes needed

    HSE Manager

    Purpose of Role

    -The function of the HSE & Facilities Manager is to ensure that all Company HSE policies & procedures are communicated understood and adhered to, across all Company locations, to work towards a goal of zero harm to people, the environment and equipment.

    -Responsible for Health, Safety and environmental management at the Basildon site, and promote a positive Health & Safety culture by developing and implementing effective management systems and ensuring legal compliance.

    -Responsible for implementing all policies, practices and operations for the Safety, Health and environmental functions within Company operations.

    -Promoting and developing a strong Safety culture oriented towards continuous improvement and in reinforcing HSE leadership from key Company staff.

    -Ensure Health, Safety and environmental working conditions are followed at all times.

    -Implementation of policies, procedures and systems to provide for a safe and secure business operation.

    -Enforce safe working practices and ensure lost time incidents are kept to a minimum.

    -Drive and maintain the Company’s HSE reputation.

    -Coordinate with local HSE resources to ensure effectiveness.

    -Advise on matters relating to Health and Safety at work, including the obligations and responsibilities of managers and employees; and provide comprehensive and practical advice to technical and line managers on best practice.

    -Provide appropriate risk assessment methodology to comply with legislation and ensure all potential risks are identified and control measures implemented and monitored.

    -Control PPE requirements for the site and keep records of checks.

    -Lead and advise personnel on carrying out COSHH assessments and risk assessments and ensure risks are being reduced or removed alongside department managers;

    -Chairing Health & Safety committee meetings;

    -Conduct Health and Safety inductions for new employees and regular refresher sessions for existing employees.

    Paint Sprayer

    Purpose of Role

    As a paint sprayer you should be able to apply wet paint to Aerospace machined and sheet metal Aluminium components.  If you are familiar with 2K and 3K paint systems and manually apply them to meet Aircraft specifications this would be an advantage.  Training will be given to achieve this standard.

    You will use a manual spray gun to apply coatings in line with the job’s instructions.

    Tasks

    • Ensure all paint materials are mixed correctly for colour and consistency and recorded for paint traceability in accordance with work instruction sheets
    • Prepare pre-treated aluminium
    • Apply primer to work instruction sheets
    • Apply topcoats to work instruction sheets
    • Be trained to be able to perform paint thickness and adhesion checks and record information in accordance with British and European Standards
    • Setting up the spray equipment
    • Prepare surfaces to be covered
    • Quality check all finished jobs

    Clean and maintain all spray equipment, spray booths and associated equipment

    Purpose of Role

    To control the management of stocks inbound and outbound.

    Principal Accountabilities:

    • To locate into the Stores all finished parts which are passed, after final inspection.

    Purpose of Role

    Reporting to the FAIR Quality Engineering Team Leader in Shared Service Quality, the purpose of the role is for FAIR inspection team members in support the First Article Inspection Reports overcheck process for a number of key Transfers of Work being undertaken by Gardner Aerospace with Derby site as the primary lead site.  The role is key to ensuring first time right quality, conformance to quality standards and special process requirements during the transfers of work to support Gardner Aerospace in meeting and exceeding its customer requirements on quality, cost and delivery.

    This UK role would be primarily based at Derby site as required to undertake direct inspections of FAIR parts with a level of remote working from home possible for the inspection of FAIR documentation.

    Safety:

    • Support and promote company policies, procedures and Health, Safety & Environmental standards including IS(phone number removed) and 18001, in order to promote a strong HS&E culture and provide a healthy and secure working environment for all
    • Support and work in conjunction with the wider site teams as necessary to reduce the number of accidents, near misses and environmental hazards utilising 6S principles managing HS&E proactively and effectively
